Healing with Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Most of my clients find me because they’re looking for someone who is Certified in IFS. On our first call, I often hear they’ve just read a book like No Bad Parts or The Body Keeps the Score, and now they’re curious about this mysterious modality that some people call “parts work.” They’ve been trying to heal for years with limited results, so they’re wondering if IFS could be the path that finally helps them get to the root of their struggles.

That’s where I come in—I’ve been working with IFS for more than five years, and it’s a part of my daily life. In addition to being Certified, I also seek regular consultation and training to sharpen my skills and stay in touch with my own system of parts. It’s actually a lot of fun! I love introducing people to the model or helping them get to know their parts at a deeper level. More importantly, clients who embrace IFS usually find it to be transformative. That’s probably why influencers like Elizabeth Gilbert, Gabrielle Bernstein, and even Tim Ferriss rave about it.

IFS is an approach that helps us get to know the many parts of ourselves. It can be useful for people who feel conflicted—for example, sometimes a part of you wants to go to the gym while another part of you wants to stay home and eat cake. It can also help people who have experienced trauma or people who struggle with big emotions. When we explore the parts that guide our behaviors, we can heal, make changes, and finally feel better.
