Book: The Body Keeps the Score by Bessel van der Kolk is a bit dense, but it’s a classic when it comes to understanding complex or developmental trauma. Whether you had a few hiccups as a kid or a downright difficult childhood, this book is for you.
Book: I love everything by Gabor Maté, especially When the Body Says No and The Myth of Normal. I do very much believe that so many of today’s “mystery illnesses” are the result of trauma.

Book: The Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins is another book that might be for everyone. If you’d like to improve your relationships or feel a lot of frustration when other people do what they do, this is an easy read that can help. (Note: I’m aware there’s some controversy about the origins of this work, but I’m still recommending it for now.)
